Michigan Association Leaders To Be Inducted Into 2018 Hall Of Fame
Three Michigan association leaders will be inducted into the Michigan Society of Association Executives’ (MSAE) 2018 Hall of Fame in September. William G. Sheffer, CAE, executive director, Michigan Manufactured Housing and RV & Campgrounds and Self-Storage Association (MMH & RVCA) of Okemos; Diane S. Banks, executive director, Michigan Green Industry Association (MGIA) of Bingham Farms; and Charles Hadden, CAE, president/CEO, Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) of Lansing, will be recognized for their career accomplishments in association leadership.
Hadden has been president/CEO of MMA since 2008, and prior to that served as MMA’s vice president of governmental affairs and director of environmental and regulatory affairs for many years. Hadden is nationally certified by ASAE.
Banks has been at the helm of MGIA since 1989. She also serves on the board of Great Lakes Stormwater Technology Transfer Collaborative, MIOSHA – Green Industry Alliance Committee and the Healthy Lawn Care Technical Committee. She has been recognized with at least five separate awards since 2002 including the Key Award from MSAE in 2015.
Sheffer has led MMH & RVCA since 2016 and was vice president of operations for Richfield Trailer Supply. He is nationally certified by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
MSAE will induct the three at its 17th annual Diamond Awards event Sept. 20 in Novi.
Based in East Lansing, MSAE is a professional organization of more than 1,600 members that works to advance knowledge in the association industry.
