“Sound Check: Investigative Journalism”

April 2, 2018

Michigan Radio’s investigative reporter Lindsey Smith will speak to Capitol Issues Forum Wednesday Apr.18 from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. on stories she’s covered recently, including the Michigan State University sexual harassment scandal, lead levels in Michigan’s drinking water and the controversial Line 5 oil pipeline in the Straits of Mackinac.

Smith’s 2015 documentary on the Flint Water Crisis, “Not Safe to Drink,” earned the station a national Edward R. Murrow Award, along with other recognition. In 2014, Smith was named “Young Journalist of the Year” by the Detroit Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Specs Howard School of Media Arts.

Please note the time change for this event.

The meeting will be held at the Small Business Association of Michigan, located at 120 N. Washington, Ste. 1000, Lansing. Capitol Issues Forum is an informal gathering of Lansing area public policy, communication and public relations professionals. It’s a joint project of Lezotte Miller Public Relations Inc. and the Small Business Association of Michigan.

There is no charge to attend. Coffee and bagels will be served. For food planning purposes, RSVPs are appreciated but not required.
