Red Cross improves foodbank, fundraising
In 2008, the Mid-Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross sought counsel from LM Inc. to reposition its Regional Food Distribution Center (RFDC) and improve fundraising.
LM Inc. recommended a name change to Mid-Michigan Food Bank to better communicate the RFDC’s work in gathering and distributing food to pantries in seven mid-Michigan counties. A communication plan introduced the change to key audiences. In just one year, the Mid-Michigan Food Bank increased fundraising from $82,750 to $256,000, and distributed 591,000 more pounds of food to needy families than the previous year.
