Lezotte Miller Public Relations works with a variety of nonprofit,
association and business clients. Its professionals are highly skilled in
long-range communication and research with specialties in crisis communication, media training and strategic planning.

With local, state and national clients, Lezotte Miller offers a broad
spectrum of public relations services that help put our clients out front.

Barbara Lezotte, APR, founded Lezotte Miller Public Relations Inc. in 1995 after more than 12 years in agency public relations and stints in radio and newspapers.  During her 25-year career, she has counseled clients in the environmental, health care, economic development, insurance, education and manufacturing industries.   She specializes in strategic planning and issue management.

She earned both master’s and bachelor’s degrees in journalism at Michigan State University and is a frequent guest lecturer at the college.  In April 2004, she was named “PACEMaker of the Year” by the Central Michigan Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.  She earned national accreditation (APR) in 1988.

Lezotte was chair of the board of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce in 2003 and served for six years on the board of directors.  She currently serves on the boards of the Small Business Association of Michigan, Michigan Youth in Government and the Boy Scouts Chief Okemos Council and is a member of the American Red Cross Communications Committee, the Past Directors’ Council of Highfields and the Sparrow Coaches for Kids Committee.  She chaired the Public Relations Society of America’s Central Michigan Chapter in 1996 and served on the board of directors of the Rotary Club of Lansing from 2004 to 2006.

Senior staff

   Mike Turner transitioned into public relations after more than 20 years  

   as a print journalist.  He is a former business writer and copy desk chief

   at The Flint Journal. Turner was also a business writer at The Grand

   Rapids Business Journal and The Bay City Times.  He earned a

   bachelor of arts degree in journalism at Michigan State University and

   is the recipient of numerous writing awards. 

   He serves on the Downtown Development Authority, Planning

   Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals in the Shiawassee County

   community of Vernon.

   Leah Borst, Media/Publications Coordinator, started her career in

   newspapers as a reporter covering education, community health,

   economic development and local government.

   She wrote for The Kalamazoo Gazette in Michigan and The Shelby

   Daily Globe in Ohio. Borst joined Lezotte Miller in 2008. She earned a

   bachelor’s degree in Journalism at Western Michigan University and

   worked as a reporter for the WMU Western Herald.
